So, just how old is Diane Reemes?

It's absolutely painful to listen to her mid-morning on NPR - even though she generally has strong guest panels. Do they have a T-1 to her bedside at American Senior Communities? ::)

I think she has sounded more wraspy in recent months. I think she broke her hip a few months back and she was off the air for several weeks. I wonder how her overall health is. Once you get used to her voice she is a terrific interviewer/moderator.

I have heard the name but I have never heard her. I used to listen to WAMU many, many years ago when they played bluegrass.

I'm very sorry to hear about all of her health issues - it does suck to get old.

That said, it is also still true that it is painful to listen to her at times, and yet I agree, the content of the program is generally very strong. It would seem to be prudent for NPR to be introducing a co-host now groomed as an eventual replacement.
