So KFNC changed to the Ticket....

I liked KFNC, it was nice to hear talk raidio/news that was actually in full FM glory.

So they dump the talk format, and go with Sports. I am a sports fan, so ok, I can deal, I hate AM sports radio, sound quality issues again.

This new station SUCKS. They play old sound clips constantly and poor bumpers...

For God sake at least prep some content before you switch formats

Also, anyone know if Phil Valentine will land a spot in Houston? I hated that guy at first, but after Pruett and Shannon got moved to AM,
I started listening and actually miss his show.

I cant keep listening to Dan Patrick whine any longer on the drive home.

Thanks. Have a good one.

A funny note about Dan Patrick..... Yesterday in his first day as a State Senator he got b!##h-slapped by the rest of the Senate. His bill to change Senate rules concerning bill proposals was voted down 30-1. Obviously the one vote for the bill was Dan's. Currently for bills to be proposed in the Senate they have to have a 2/3 vote. Dan's bill would have changed that to a simple majority.

What day did they acually flip to ESPN?

I think it was December 29th, jras. It's running the audio from ESPN News until January 16th at which time it will take on it's permanent (at least for the next 6 months or so) format with the normal ESPN Radio syndication. (i.e. Mike and Mike in the morning, Colin Cowherd, etc.)

Ruger, you said that Pruett and Shannon have been moved to the AM?? What station are they on? I hadn't received an e-mail from Jim stating they had landed a gig anywhere on the dial. Can you elaborate?

I think he meant that Pruett and Shannon moved to the morning and that Valentine was on in the afternoon.

But I could be wrong...

Thanks, even with KLTO in the picture I can still recieve them pretty good with my directional antenna.

Of KSEV fame??
Yep, Sure is.......

So did KFNC take the Houston ID out of the TOH ID?

im just an average listner and wondered why did KFNC switch to sports?

There are many reasons. However, the one that stands out the most, is the inability to cover the Houston area. The same problem existed for KKTL 97Talk-FM (97.1) back in 1997. The only way it stands a chance is to be on a full city grade signal.

I guess that makes a lot of sense, im not great mind, but the signal didn't cover Houston that well, but claimed to be a Houston station.
