So Long Katie

I'm sure the news department at CBS wouldn't do this...but the overnight newscaster, MEG OLIVER, is awesome!

She's a grown-up who is camera friendly and is capable of delivering a believeable newscast! Nothing personal against Mr. Schieffer...because I enjoyed him on the CBS Evening News. But Meg is definitely EXCELLENT!

Perhaps the CBS News Brass will cut her a little slack and let her do fill-in during a timeslot where more viewers can catch her?!

Meg is VERY GOOD and VERY PROFESSIONAL! ;)

I am sorry, but I have to strongly disagree with you. This woman has potential, but at this time, she CLEARLY belongs on overnights. The overnight anchors at ABC News are way above Ms. Oliver. Her reading of stories has ALOT to be desired.

The worst thing CBS can do is put her on in a highly visible daypart. She's not even good enough to host the CBS News updates during the soaps.

oh really?

You've heard the expression: Different Strokes for different folks?

It's my personal opinion about Ms Oliver's talents...and I'm sure I'm not completely alone?

This comes from a man who watches ALL the news channels including cnn, fox, and (on occasion) the 2-cspan channels! :p

"Somewhere, Bob Schieffer is smiling..."

Actually, I'm not so sure about that. Schieffer was a great choice, and they should have kept him, in my opinion. But he was just a stop-gap anchor, and he knew that form the beginning. He's had a great career, and I don't think he's got any ego about being an anchor.

When the switch to Couric was announced, I saw Bob being interviewed about it. He was very generous in his praise for Katie, and had nothing but good things to say about her. Perhaps he knows her personally - but he seemed to be a sincere admirer. So I'm sure Schieffer is sad about her flaming out.

Yes, but Argy, you are also the same guy who emails all the local weather babes because they seem so personable and friendly when giving the 7 day forecast to YOU. :p ;D :p

And if you can tell me the name of ANY broadcaster (male or female) who doesn't enjoy an occasional compliment about his or her work...I'D LOVE TO KNOW WHO IT IS! ???

Mega Trade:
Katie Couric for Anderson Cooper!
CNN gets Couric to host Larry King Live and CBS gets Cooper for the Evening News.
