So Long Rosie! (Or is it Rosey?)

I just want to publicly recognize and thank Jim Rosenhaus for his great work on Buffalo Bisons games these past ten years. Jim is a true professional. There was nothing better on a Sunday summer afternoon than sitting in the backyard, sipping a brew and listening to Rosie and Duke call a Bisons game. There's just something magical about baseball on radio. And Jim had that special magic that the best baseball announcers have. The Bisons may be minor league, but Jim was and is a major league talent. I'm happy for him that he now gets his chance to shine in the big leagues. No word on a successor. I wonder if the Bisons will bring someone from out of town, like they did Rosie a decade ago, or if they'll tap a local announcer to handle the play-by-play.

Going to "The Show"

"And that ball is gawwwwnnn!"

Congratulations to a genuine class act! Rosey (prefering the "ey" suffix) had big shoes to fill when he came to Buffalo, following Pete Weber. But in time, Jim proved that he was more than capable and made his "mark" doing his job consistently, intelligently and exceptionally well. He's knowledgeable and has a solid delivery. It's a good lesson for a lot of young guys who aspire to make it in play by play (and this business.)

And now, the next guy (person?) coming in finds another pair of big shoes to fill!

From one "Jim" to another, best wishes and continued success in Cleveland with the Tribe.

Ditto - always a classy guy. I didn't mind handing off an hour or two of KB Music time to him on Saturday afternoons.

I was lucky to be able to listen to Jim everyday for his first three seasons after he took over for me. That was an anjoyable experience and I know that the Indians' fans will enjoy him as well. All the best to Jim in Cleveland and his successor with the Bisons!
