the FCC has it listed at 88.5 FM. I guess it will be owned by Connecticut River Educational Radio, Inc. God, could this be yet another WGBH simulcast? We already have two of them, and one wasn't even supposed to be one. WNCK was supposed to serve the island. We also have WNAN.

They are going to be using the same tower that WRZE is about to vacate.

Connecticut River Educational Radio is not WGBH or anything NPR related. It's a religious outfit.

Because Nantucket just needs to have a religious stick. I think what Nantucket needs is a community FM station that caters to what the local population wants; Things like a local staff, and music that is picked by the DJ's and not handed to them by HQ. The classic Rock format could once again be present. Just my $0.02.

It's only an application, and there's one for 88.7 also. Obviously both won't get approved, maybe neither. There are MANY new applications for stations all across the cape.

I'd love to see more quality stations on the Cape and the Islands. A couple of them stand out to me in their respective formats. 96.3 "The Rose" and 92.7 WMVY. I'm on the Cape fairly frequently, and I have yet to find much else to grab my attention.

I haven't really had a listen to wMVY lately, how bad has it gotten?

I know their signal reaches the island. I can pull it in if I face west.
