So the "Peach" came back for a couple of hours.

This is the first time I have been in front of the computer in 72 hours, It seems like Clear Channel almost gave Cox and B98.5 a heart attack by bringing back a heritage brand, albeit for a couple of hours.

I was scanning my radio sometime after 1 PM, and I heard AC on 105.7. I thought...wow, some intellegence came back into CC. They had imaging...and everything. It sounded legit. One thing came across my mind...why not launch all-Christmas. That was answered came about 2:30 or so with the demise of the short lived "Peach", and "Holiday 105.7". I turned off the radio shortly after 3 PM. When I got back in the car about 10 PM, I heard a 50 Cent song, and knew everyone had been taken for a ride.

You have to give CC credit for this stunt...bringing back heritage stations (Peach and WGST-FM) that were successful that they flipped to disasters...only to bring in something that probably will not work, since it has been a flop elsewhere. (Most of the "Movin" stations have already flipped formats).

Alas...the stupid and non-logical thinking of CC continues.

Incidentally, New York's WKTU, whose format Groove 105.7 is loosely based on, launched in 1996 after days of simulcasting then-sister stations in cities such as Chicago and San Francisco...

So Jal41 and I are the only ones on this board who think this "Groove" crap is another CC mistake!
I think bringing "Peach" back, on this channel, would be a mistake for the same reason. The reason being....signal!
This station can't compete with Star,Q100, or B98 market wide. I don't understand the thinking here. 96.1 or 94.9 would have a chance but not the rimshots.........
Someone in this industry MUST have some imagination.....someone....somewhere. Is there really no one who can think of something innovative to do with a radio station?
If this move is a local decision then I'm wonderin' if the new GM is all legs and no brains.......

I wonder why 105.7 is being advertised on 94.9 the Bull?? I know it is a Clearly no clue Channel station as well, but Jason and Kristen seem more Pop/Top 40 to me they don't really fit on a Country format. I wonder if they will wind up on the Groove Station? Trip West would be good on there too, and he had a couple of shifts on the Bull a while back on the weekends. Makes you go HMMMM, I have to also say The Groove is repeating the songs too much, with the vast amount they can play from, it makes no sense.

I thought it was a little strange when I heard on The Bull, "Traffic is brought to you by The Groove."

At least while Peach was back, it was "sweet and juicy, just the way you like it." Haha.

You can read my prediction for The Groove in my blog at www.atlairwaves.blogspot.com.

They announced traffic on WGST as for Project 9-6-1 the other day.

CC did well trying The Buzz (now Project) on a smaller signal before promoting it to a better one. CC could do the same with Groove, although it would have to do very well to replace either Project or Bull. Bull is finally getting traction and share, and Project would win a game of chicken against Rock100.5, which does worse every book. CC won't walk away from active rock with Rock100.5 on the ropes.

CC could also pop for buying 94.1 off of Lincoln...with money they don't have...

You know times are hard when you can't sell traffic spots, and end up scrambling to fill them in with your sister stations.

Advertising is just sh**** all over! How many times have you seen any ads other than the "MLB Network" ads during the playoffs so far?

I don't believe Project is competing that much with Rock 100.5. Same audience to a degree I guess but not a lot of overlap onmusic. Rock is more overlapping with Dave and somewhat with the New River and its own 99x on 97.9.
