SO WHAT ABOUT PYX

Have to laff...why is anyone spending time discussing the Bone? They've been over for a year. The real topic is what the hell happened to PYX? Cooper took his eye off it? Too many old and crusty songs? Wolf?

From what I hear, WPYX finished top 4 across all dayparts in the money demo. Not particularly spectacular for PYX, but it is the "what goes up must come down" theory. PYX has consistently dominated, and with their monster signal, I do not see it ending any time soon. Bad book? Relative to WPYX's past performance yes. Relative to the performance of the rest of the market, no. And with their promotions budget, tie-ins with SPAC and FOX 23, good luck unseating them. Does anyone know of a former PYX PD who would love to have more than a .9 12+.......? Man, I would love to see *those* breakouts.

Q104.3 in nyc is more better than pyx 106 especially their music selection and special weekends. PYX should get programming tips from Q1043.

You have got to be kidding. PYX has more things going on during each daypart such as requests, giveaways, music info, as well as special shows on the weekend. Plus their weekends are different every weekend from double shot weekends, rock block weekends, vault weekends, live performance weekends. Q104 has been boring every time I've been in the city listening. You may not think the music changes much in classic rock - you can find the same songs on so many stations here, but if you're thinking about what's done on the air besides the music, then I strongly disagree with you.

Yes, PYX does have a lot going on, but the morning show seems stale and the music doesn't seem to have the punch and continuity it had a few months ago. Didn't Cooper recently give up the reigns to someone else as PD?

Cooper gave the PD reigns to Steve Haner back in April. Steve has been APD since June of '04 and has been doing the music for PYX for over a year and a half now.
