So what happens to the Jocks?

Now that Oldies 104.3 is the new Jack-FM. What happens to the Veteran Chicago
Jocks such as Greg Brown, Dick Biondi and the almighty Fred Winston? Not to forget the others. But the ones I'D mentioned, are truly Chicago greats.

They get to stay. But, how well do you think Biondi will take to intro-ing C&C Music Factory and Prince?? Makes me think of that clip where Casey Kasem was screwing up and he was cussing and he didn't know tape was still rolling on him.

I can see Winston since I clearly remember him doing mornings on WPNT-100.3 (Hot AC) in the mid 90s and afternoons on WXXY/WYXX-103.1 (As both Rhythmic Oldies/AC and 80s) between 1997 and 2001. Greg Brown MAYBE. Not sure about Dick Biondi. I hope they all get to stay because they are great talent and not just great, but legendary.

ON A SIDE NOTE:

I heard a little PROMO for the WJMK webcast during a Jack stopset. "Get all the great music and personalities on www.wjmk.com"

maybe they're keeping them on the webcast. Its not "Compatible with my system" so I wouldn't know.

The jocks will be back playing oldies, but not on FM.
The old WJMK will be heard on the internet and HD.
I can't listen to the internet at the beach and who the
hell has an HD receiver?

Clicking on "Listen Live" brings up RADIOMAT.com which provides streaming access to all Infinity News/Talk Stations. No WJMK stream as Jack or Oldies 104.3 as far as I can see!

LOL, I hear you about Dick Biondi. But I hope somehow that they
retain him within some sort of capacity with the station. Maybe
a whatever oldies weekend show.

I just wish that that the would stream live their new Jack-FM program.

Re: So what happens to the jocks?

Almost as bad as picturing Biondi back at B96. That's like Tom Joyner on Rebel Radio

I listened to the WJMK stream, for like 2 or 3 minutes. I really can't listen, because I have dialup, thus it kept skipping. Anyways, the stream exists at http://www.wjmk.com. Also it is found on top of the Jack site. I noticed that Radiomat.com doesn't have those stations in their list, but they are there, you just have to look on other sites.

What time did you listen? As of last night approx 9:30 PM, clicking on listen live from www.WJMK.com or the corner of the Jack Site brought you to Radiomat.com, the Infinity News/Talk streaming page. As of this morning, the WJMK stream does attempt to open but times out with a "server not responding message". Point being that while alot of people including Feder are stating that oldies will continue on the web stream, it is not happening at least this week end.

I tuned in at about 10PM. I heard the end of a song, the WJMK jingle ("The Greatest Hits of the 60s and 70s, 104.3 WJMK!") then Aretha Franklin. I tuned in for that little bit, so my friend could hear what was going on, as he couldn't get the stream as well. I will try it again this morning, may be different. I will update it on here when I try.

Update: The stream page is there, and keeps buffering. It stops buffering, then for a couple seconds, it is saying it is playing the stream at 64kbps. Is this what you were getting?
