So What is on 1300 AM?

With WMEL's move to 1060, what is happening at 1300? New calls? What's the programming?

According to the FCC, the WMEL call letters are still assigned to AM 1300. AM 1060 still has the WIXC call letters. Regarding 1300, I'm sure Rama Communications will find another entity to LMA the station. For a 5kw directional AM station, 1300 has an very good signal.

And before someone says something, the Legal ID at the top of the hour still says "WIXC, Titusville." That's the only time the Commission requires the proper call letters be used. They can say WMEL as many times as they want during the other 59 minutes and 58 seconds of the hour. Just check how many times "WFLA" is said on 540. Only exception is the TOH (WFLF.)

1060/1300am

On the first day, 1300am was playing bluegrass - sounded like mom and pop were running the board and doing top of the hour ID's (1300am WMEL) ... last couple of days I checked it was just static

There are actually four "WFLA's" in Florida all owned by IHeart Media: WFLA-AM 970 Tampa (The original WFLA); WFLA-FM 100.7 Midway (Tallahassee); WFLF-AM 540 Pine Hills (Orlando); and WFLF-FM 94.5 Parker (Panama City). When WQTM 540 was in the process of changing format from sports to News-Talk, I thought the WFLA call letters were actually moving from Tampa to Orlando. I had no idea at the time Clear Channel was going to use a derivative of the WFLA call letters while using "WFLA" as its imaging statement.
