SO WHAT WAS SO IRRITATING ABOUT T RADIO?

I see where transit officials are pulling the plug on T Radio at 3 subway stops due to complaints. The agency received hundreds of emails, most of which claimed the music & other programming was distracting & annoying. Some said they preferred hearing the live musicians in the stations.

Who was 'the private company' who provided T-Radio? The Globe article just said 'private company', but failed to metion who they were.

Mr. Bittner (always enjoy your posts), the little Metro (owned by the Globe?) had the information:

According to Richie Balsbaugh of Pyramid Radio, the performers are part of the fabric of Boston and they want it to stay that way, despite the fact he’s pushing for T-Radio to be broadcast at all underground stations.

Ed McMann is with Clear Channel - and worked for Balsbaugh

I heard T Radio on my daily commute over the past weeks. I can honestly say that I really liked it. Sure there were commercials and some songs will never be in my personal listening collection - but it was a cool balance of information, entertainment, and music. If you want to complain about something to the MBTA, leave T Radio alone and focus on the overwhelming smell of urine.

The smell of urine is what make the T ride so great . Take away the urine smell from the T , is like moving the Red Sox out of Boston . Love that dirty water !
