I barely ever listen to local stations anymore that would talk about this subject matter, so what's the radio community saying about Vick's indictment? I imagine there's racial commentary-a-plenty.

That's what one of the syndicated shows said. I'm sure it's not the only one. Another show I listen to had a caller who said pit bull fighting is a black thing and cockfighting is a white thing and that's why the white people that run cockfights never get in trouble.

To summarize briefly, the Insider Advantage survey showed Atlantans equally split on whether Vick should be cut now (47%) or kept until the trial is over (48%). To this particular point about race, 54% of whites think he should be cut now while 66% of blacks believe he should be allowed to stay at least for now.
I don't think it's a racial thing, personally...but oh well. Those numbers are discouraging.
I do notice something of a disparity here, however...Vick's a big star. If it were an average Joe or Jane...anybody on this board, for example, they'd already be wearing an orange jumpsuit and a good many people would approve of locking the jerk up for a while. But not when it's a big star... I love how they often manage to get the kid-glove treatment when it comes to legal matters.

Interestingly enough, for a rich famous and/or powerful person, is that once something like this starts, they really can't win.
Even if they are found innocent in a trial, there will always be the assumption among many that they got off solely because they were "rich, powerful, and or famous". Not because they were actually innocent.
But hey, nobody said life was fair.

Michael Vick will never play in the NFL again. Why any radio station would even put this guy on there airwaves (like V-103) is beyond me. I don't care how "black" the guy is.
