So, what's for sale?

The Crossroads stations in Terre Haute are always for sale if you can find someone with stupid money since they want too much to try to make up for what they've lost on the place so far. Since they have no cash flow you would be buying something to amuse yourself. ;D

I'm hearing Artistic is buying 98.3 from Disney. Closing is iminent:)

Kinda hard to have a closing when a 314 hasn't been filed with the FCC yet.

Kinda fun to make up worst case scenarios for Mouseman....

Well, we all missed the earth-shattering sale by the Byrd family of WXLW to some data processing outfit for $150k. The ripples of this monster transaction are still being felt throughout central Johnson county!
That was truly a deal that had potential to alter the face of the AM band, and we all let it pass!!

Snorlax's sarcasm aside, Blaine's column said that Creative Data Management (or Snorlax's Technical Term: "some data processing outfit") purchased WXLW from the Byrd's for the price Snorlax indicated.

The Creative Data Management company is Randall and Barbara Hood. Might they somehow be related to Pilgrim's Gene Hood?

Rumors had been circulating that 950 AM had been purchased by some hoods.

Another rumor going around town has the programming changing to religious and targeting the 'hood.

Sad...there should be no more than one religious station per each 4000 square mile tract.

That's my calculation for the desirable number of rap stations.

And country stations.

Yes, all potential Snorlaxian sarcasm aside, if these Hoods are all related, perhaps this "sale" is some kind of family-related property transfer as a tax maneuver, and the AM band as we know it will remain unchanged.
