There's been some speculation and rumor. Does anyone have the final body count for Clear Channel Providence from last week?

So far we have:
Amy Hagan
Mike Brangiforte
Amy from Tad & Brian

Who else?

Quinn and Cantara too.
Delilah and EdMcMannequin survived the cuts. They must have something in common the others didn't.

Cheaper? How many stations does McMann voice track for? Also, Deliliah is probably cheap off the sat.

"Deliliah better be cheap. Her show is complete crap."

This is just justification that you people on this board are [EDIT]. I myself am not a delilah listener, but how can you call a show crap that pulls great numbers, is syndicated throughout the country and outside of the usa and is number 1 in the night time slots in many markets including the top ten markets? You people need to turn the page and realize that the new era of radio is syndication, which all steams from big buisness wanting to boost their numbers. Get used to it soon all radio will be syndicated with no locals what so ever

so smarten up and put that in your pipe and smoke it

I don't think Delilah is crap because she's syndicated. I think her show is crap because it's the most sickenly sweet phony piece of radio that has ever existed. I don't care if 99 out of 100 people tuned into the radio are listening to her. That doesn't change the fact that I still think the show is crap. Put that in your pie hole. ;D

All radio will be syndicated with no locals what so ever ? And that why free radio is going to the ShZZZ !

[EDIT]

You're in radio, are you?

So the future of radio is syndication and voicetracking? Doesn't sound like much of a future. That's probably why some companies are recognizing that the point of diminishing returns has been passed concerning V/T and syndie and that's why they are not so bullish on it these days. Look for a swinging back of the pendulum once more companies realize that PERSONALITY is the ONLY thing that will allow them to compete with the multitude of alternate audio sources available today.

Although, it might be a while.

You must be one of the corporate haters of real live human radio who."You people" need to go back to your country club & spend your 6 figures you make off canning radio station staff who are actually in the building making it local and what listeners want. Go give Delilah her Xmas bonus with the loot you saved firing 3/4 of your staff. Put that on your yact & sail it.

Good lord.My My virgin ears.....(not)

Dump Button Dave is on duty. Glad to see that everyone is doing their job. :)

You got me pegged all wrong carlos, I am just smart enough to see where the business is going, do yourself a favor and ask anyone from the age of 18 to 25 and see if they can name the radio station they listen to and the dj's on it, I am willing to bet that more than half cant answer that question, Young People are not listening to the radio it is all the oldtimers that listen to the radio because they havent figured out the new technology, And if the younger generation is listening to the radio it is not for a local jock, it is about the music, and Radio Stations do not play the music they want to hear. And wait till the new prophet system comes out, even more people will lose their gigs, its called technology people learn it, or you will not survive the new era of radio

Fact about Deliliah is, she's too boring to get enough callers if she wasn't syndicated. Its kinda a tired format, and a dieing one at that, with today's youth growing up on different types of music, and views on whats "romantic"

So thinking like that about the beamed in crap: Once every station around the country is running the same thing there'll be no use for ratings! Why bother putting Valentine in the Morning vs. Tom Joyner or any other syndicated mess against each other?
Sandalwood, what did you mean about the new Prophet, you mean Nex GenII? Instead of voice tracking you just type in the words you want said & it spits out the words you want it to on the air with your choice of language, voice tone & accent? Like cyborg radio? Sounds great! They might as well slap some subliminal messages in the bumper music! listenlistenlistenlistenadvertisewithusadvertisewithus.

I made teh post in sky's other topic, about internet radio, and I still beleive what I said. The trend that is mot radio stations doing away with live talent means that a station that wants to be different needs to be local most of the time, and thats whats going to happen. There will be station that will stay local, just to capatilize on those listeners who want to hear local radio.
