So what's the politics behind Bright Night & the media?

Granted First Night Providence has been scaled down to Bright Night, but media participation has also been scaled down. Is it the money needed to sponsor? I can remember past First Nights when WCTK had their dancing exhibition at the Convention Center. HJY sponsored the comedy show there & also had a tent on Kennedy Plaza. Lite 105 was around City Hall handing out coffee. That's 3 different radio groups represented.

Now if you log on to www.brightnight.org & click on "sponsors" it's only Citadel. Is there exclusivity that prevents the competition from participating, the cost of taking part, or is just considered not worth the trouble unless there's some revenue involved?

By the way, if you click on Citadel Communications on the website, you're taken to a Citcomm webmail log-in page, which I think is a mistake.

Yeah I'm fine with Gays. Equal rights for all. I just thought the name sounded Gay. So it's no surprise if he's the one who came up with it. Providence/Provincetown. I see what's happening here. He's trying to meld the two towns into Sister Cities! That bastard! :) lol

What does a gay mayor have to do with the topic anyway?I'm guessing either CC won't jump in as a sponsor if Citadel is there or they won't pony up the bucks.Coast has had a street team out there in the van for waterfire but in this case vehicles wouldn't even be allowed in the greater downtown area unless authorized. Then again nowadays all you'll see are street teams anyway which is another topic entirely.Unless it's a paid remote there's just some intern or promo person handing out keychains.

CC is cutting jobs left and right. They don't even know if these stations will exist a month from now.
Spending money on 'Bright Behind night' is the last thing on their minds.
