So when do we get dot2?

New startup DTV subchannel network. Sounds like a perfect fit for one of the Belo stations - KTVK or KASW.

According to the article, they already have stations lined up to cover about 8% of the country, and are in negotiations with stations that would bring it up to 20%. Given that Belo has already signed up for KHOU-DT, I wouldn't be surprised if they add the network here as well.

Belo seems to be trying out dot2 in Houston -- hopefully, if it works we'll see it in other cities. The duopolies that Belo runs in Phoenix, Tucson, Seattle/Tacoma, and Spokane seem like very reasonable places for them to run this channel. The joint operating agreement that they have in Dallas/Fort Worth (Belo's flagship market) also seems like a good opportunity for placing dot2.

If Belo plans on running subchannels on both KTVK and KASW, here is how I see it:

KTVK: .2 Network
KASW: LATV

Meredith is also affiliating a couple stations with .2. Maybe they could axe the redundant weather channel on 5.2 and put that in its place?

Hey, we may never see RTN in PHX if Equity doesn't sell it to someone else soon.
