So, when does 94 'YSP flip to Top 40?

94-WIP and either Standards or Classic Gold on 610; watch and wait....

Don't know if this is posted yet, but I've got a feeling 94 'YSP is gonna flip like sister 'XRK in New York.... any thoughts?

Unlike New York prior to the flip of 92.3, Philly already has two CHRs. Both are doing well but three would be overkill.

Because New York has some of its commercial frequencies taken up by non-comm stations and Spanish stations, and Philly has neither, Philly has more English language commercial formats on FM than New York does.

On FM, Philly and New York share 12 formats (including two CHRs and two ACs each). (I paired up NY's WRXP with WYSP even though it's not a perfect fit.). In addition to those 12, New York has a third AC, and a classical station. Philly has WXTU, WMMR, WBEN. WPPZ and WRFF.

Keep in mind that it was on Memorial Day Weekend that CBS originally raised K-Rock from the dead two years ago in New York.

Also keep in mind that such flips usually take place on holiday weekends...

I believe NYC has 2 CHRs... Z100 and KTU... I know that KTU is more dance, but the audience is pretty close (I believe)...

I don't think they'll go spanish because it was already tried in Philly and did not work. I don't really think they'll flip this weekend, but who knows... but I DO really believe they are going to flip, they are a total train wreck of a rock station....

Sounds like a plan, D-J. Something has to happen soon. Based on simple math, the money must be flying out the YSP doors with a high-priced, dead-last-place morning show and not much better ratings for the rest of the day's flat-rock format. I'm surprised it's dragged on this long. They really need to dump The 'duce, flip the format, and pretend nothing happened.

NYC's 92.3 NOW fm and Z-100 are the competing CHR's. KTU's audience is 25-54 female. I wouldn't even consider them dance since it's more classics and the crap that their sister station, z-100 beat to death before tossing it's limp, lifeless record to KTU expecting some kinda revival.

I forgot about Rumba1045. I know it's far beyond the minds of CBS but there isn't a true alternative station on analog FM. Yes of course theres Y-Rock if you have HD radio or access to a computer constantly. Radio1045 is more like alt hits radio, they need to dig deeper into the music libraries.

This would make the second train wreck in a row for the former "boy wonder" at WYSP. First in his hometown and then at the station that he was most identified with.It looks like it might be time to go back to being a political hack.

I believe the poster is referring to the point in Andy Bloom's career where he quit radio to be a political consultant. Did you know that he once served as the press secretary for Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH)?

Do you know Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), for that matter?

Dead last rated morning show? Sounds like a job for Bubba the Love Sponge.

well the ratings have come out

do you think cbs is going to give WYSP until the end of the summer ?

I'd love to see what they did in their target demo... but it looks bad... all the other rockers (104.5, 93.3, and 102.9) are WAY higher in the ratings... It's amazing that CBS seems to be able to do the right thing with TV and just can't do ANYTHING right with radio... it's really not that hard... but it just seems to escape them.... they either need to take this format seriously or flip it....
