Is this switch even going to happen?

I just suggested that Entravision was looking on selling stations in markets in which they don't own both radio and TV properties based on this article from R&R. I don't know how much Entravision would be willing to sell KLNZ for (if it is indeed on the market), and whether the asking price would be in the range in which Riviera can get a faster ROI than leasing/buying 98.3. But, since they've already seem to got a deal worked out to operate 98.3, that's the most likely scenario.
Also, what is the progress on Miami's KQSS moving to 101.9? Before the new 98.3 hits the air, they've got to be at their new dial position.
KQSS has had their new 350’ tower built and antenna installed since early July. The red lights were not operating at night then however, I drove though Globe Sunday night and the red lights are now working. They are still on 98.3 and their website http://www.azkissfm.com still reads "Sometime in July" for the switch to 101.9. Short teasers are running about every 20 minutes about the change but don’t state when.
There obviously seems to be a glitch in the progress. FAA maybe?

The owner is trying to hold out for more money by using stall tactics. As someone close to the situation, I know this as a fact. He is trying to make them sweat a little, but listen for the change to occur from the time of this post through the end of the year (November at the longest). Besides, the ink on the contract has yet the opportunity to get wet. If you catch my drift. Also, the tower will give a 2-5 mile extension on his coverage. He still won't even reach the Town of Superior. The tower was built to get cell phone companies to rent space from him. I don't blame him for doing that, it's easy money. Anything else I can answer, just ask.

I don't blame the guy for trying. This is probably his one and only chance to maximize the profit from a scenario that would have never existed were it not for the duo of move-in turn and burn experts that would sell their own children if it meant a double.The_Dude said:Outlaw,

outlaw is misstaken. (so what's new) I have not switched because I'm holding out for more money. Granted they got off easy, but I agreed to a sum and will stick with it.
The problems have arose with equipment delivery. Rather than straight cash, I took a new tower, generators for the transmitter and studio and other items. The problem arose when I decided not to take some studio equipment and chose cash instead. The amount of the difference was lost in the transaction and had to be replaced. The change was schedule for 7/29/06 but then the issue was money to be paid in 2007 as that's when the taxes hit. I will get everything promised to me and the technicians representing 3 point media are the best. The problem has been sloppy paperwork in Chicago. I'll update our web page to report August. I believe this move will be made in the next two weeks. One of the advantages of the hold up was the added time to promote the change on the station. When most people get a chance at a large sum, it starts burning a hole in their pocket. KQSS is having it's best year. I do not need 3 point media's money. I turned down this offer about 6 years ago because at that time it was insufficient. 101.9 is not as good as 98.3 because 98.3 has no second adjacencies. Only headache is Marana. I am 71, have been in broadcasting for over 50 years. 24 years go moved here from L.A. after 6 years of air shifts. but tooo damned old for CHR. built this station from scratch. Outlaw or No one else can speak for me but me. I use my real name. cue Jack Webb.. the facts just the facts.

One cannot forget the jewel that is getting caught using your local cable providers Country channel as your overnight, then calling them saying you were off the air. Pure genius. That my friend takes massive pelotas. I applaud that you can bash the townsfolk, without jest, & retain advertiser's with the promise of Phoenix coverage. Seriously, how do you do it? What's your style in the delivery? I'm trying to craft that into a working formula, in a manner similar to Don Rickles. Keep up the good work. People don't understand great integrity and intellect.
