So Where's "The Brew" Gonna End Up?

Eclectic rock "The Brew" has been heard in Milwaukee, Columbus & Omaha. Could it end up on 95.7? 104.9? Stay tuned!

I hope it comes here SOMEWHERE! What a cool niche format, the same sort of way Pirate Radio was in 1990-91.

Listening to the VERY safe KJR this afternoon (with the boring John Pleisse delivery and same listener testimonials over and over) and find the same tired classic hits to be a bit passe. I hope someone flips to an 80s-based rock classic format soon.

Read my responses to your similar posts on the San Francisco and Sacramento boards.

Yes - and if you people continue to take the bait from this Canadian (from Montreal, no less) who posts on EVERY Radio-Info board, we'll keep having these idiotic discussions.

Uh, PD, I already asked that question on this board several threads back.

It might be boring to you, but it isn't to the folks getting an Arbitron book. They have their best ratings in years. #4 in mornings with Adults 25-54 and #2 middays. Why would they want to blow that up?

The Brew isn't an "80s and more" type pop format. It's 80s based rock (with some 70s and 90s). I guess you could say it's an updated classic rock format aimed at Gen-Xers.

Still just because CC has "The Brew" in three Midwestern markets doesn't mean it will start popping up in every city coast to coast like PassDutch seems to think.

They don't seem to be running a lot of spots, but this is just from a casual observance. Granted, I listened most intently on a Sunday afternoon as well when spot loads are considerably lighter. If CC is happy with mediocre, they'll do fine with KJR. Lets see who does want to adopt a Brew-type format if they don't. And if that is the case, how long before they kick themselves for not blowing up KJR sooner?

Tick, tick, tick...

If CC pulls the plug on KJR-FM, they have lost me as a listener of any of their stations. I'm sure the advertisers would love that.<P ID="signature">______________

The PERFECT station to change to the 'BREW' type format would be 102.9 KNBQ.
To those of you who didn't grow up here, KNBQ was a great rock station @97.3; I for one still miss them. (Besides, all of the small comunities covered by 102.9
have their own country station. (KMNT, KXXK, KUKN)Want to make money CC? Put that flame thrower to use with something that NO ONE ELSE IS DOING!)
