SO WHO DO YOU REALLY LISTEN TO?

Aside from the obvious checking out most if not all stations in the market, who do you really listen to in terms of radio as entertainment, music, information, etc?

WCTK & XM. I don't even bother trying to get news on the radio anymore. I just go online at home or work.

Howard Stern: I try to catch the majority of the show live in the morning (or on the reruns throughout the day if I can't find anything else I feel like listening to)

Cianci and Yorke I'll tune in to during the day if I'm in the car.

Matt Allen at night, I make an effort to tune in at home or in the car.

On Friday mornings or when Stern is on vacation it's music from my iPod or maybe Opie and Anthony out of Boston. Weekends its iPod or Stern reruns. I should probably take more advantage of the Sirius music channels, I like what i've heard on some of their decades channels and the Springsteen channel, it's just that most of the time I'd rather hear my own music.

I rarely tune in to any music stations.

For local news/talk: 630; Ron & Buddy, some Yorke depending upon what's being discussed, & the Matt Allen show.

National/syndicated: Laura Ingraham.

The only time I show any loyalty to a station is during morning drive. No one else is doing an actual show except for Geoff Charles and I really have to be in the right mood for him and in small doses. Mornings it's HJY and I'll deal with PRO-FM until they play a song. I like Tim Leary on WCTK but never liked country as a format but have to admit I'm getting more into it because I tune out songs I don't like on other formats just as much as I do country songs I don't like. After morning drive I just look for songs I like irregardless of format and that includes both Providence and Boston radio.

Gio & Kim in the morning except when "Headlines" is on Dennis & Callahan on WEEI (Pro is usually playing a song) and then it is Ron & Buddy or WEEI at lunch and WEEI & Yorke on the way home (depending upon stop sets). Weekends usually WEEI or Radio Disney, depending if I have the kids or not.

At work forced to listen to Lite 105, at least they've switched off Coast...those last couple of weeks of summer were hard ones!

mornings= geo & kim on pro
my lunch hr= buddy or york depending on what time i take it
drive home= i switch off between easy 99.1 lite 105 and 630 wpro
at night i listen to matt allen and michael savage on wpro

A lot of different stations but mostly 630 WPRO (to see what's happening in our fun little state), Oldies 103.3 (love the music), and 1030 WBZ (another great news station).

Six a.m. check in with Imus, Quinn, Depetro. At 5 a.m., WPRO., Bill Haberman is one of the best , he has his pulse on traffic, stocks, he is with it. 4 a.m. Coast to Coast

Then, Helen , WHJJ, occassionally check in with DePetro,. 10 a.m. Cianci, , Dan York, Matt Allen. In the car I flip talk shows. Some of Mike Savage.

Being something of a news / current events junkie, 1290 WRNI is the 'soundtrack of my life'.

However, for those times when I find the 'mainstream view' of things somewhat lacking, I'll find myself seeking out alternaive points of view, such examples being:
* Barry Richards' mid-morning call-in show on WSAR 1480.
* During the overnight hours (when reception permits) the re-broadcast of Alex Jones' midday call-in show on WWCR Shortwave.

As for music, I tend not to use radio much for music these days, with the noteable exception of the U-Mass Dartmouth station's Sunday Jazz and Blues programming on 89.3.

Stern on Sirus in the morning, otherwise XM Music Channels or my I-Pod..if I'm traveling, my 8 gig I-Pod which has video, or my 2 gig if just needing music..I've pretty much given up on commercial radio regardless of format..
