So who is Mike Gallagher going to be replaced by?

BENJAMIN DOVER!
He gets a 3 year no-kill contract.

How can one replace Gallagher? You must accept all drudge reports as gospel truth, stay away from all facts unless you happen to agree with them. If there are no facts to back up your opinion, then create them with an obscure source. Finally make Anti Democratic Party statements two times a week minimum,Anti- Hillary three times a week and Praise Tom Delay everytime you open the mike. That's how you replace Gallagher.

C'mon now, don't tease the Princess.
It was announced a few months ago that Infinity had signed former presidential advisor Jay Severen to do a talk show that would air on at least four Infinity O&O stations, including KRLD. I would expect to see them slot it in where the big goober sits now. Gallagher goes to KSKY, but 660 will still air an hour of Virtuous Bill Bennett.
I'll never forget the time the press corps discussed asking then-drug czar Bennett if he was still chewing Nicorette... I did the honors. His face turned red, and he shouted "No Style Section Questions"
That was before the guy admitted to gambling away millions (but not the milk money!) and before his statement that aborting all the black babies would make the crime rate go down. Another page from the book of virtues.

I think Severin's show is going to run in the early evening. Gavin is going to bring in an out-of-towner to do a local show 9-noon.

Just what we need!

That would be perfect, don't you think?
Bring in another out of town local guy?
It always works. "Hey I just moved here ain't this town great let me tell you how things should work here because this is we did things back home and let me tell you all about how great it was back there but no I really love it here but home was better" kind of host.
Love those guys.

100% chance Spittle is making the calls. I say that because the guy he's bringing in, Jay McFarland, is from his former station, KXNT/Las Vegas. Spittle gave him his first break in radio and is now moving him to a top 5 market. Interstingly McFarland has always done part time until now. Part of the reason is that KXNT only has one local show M-F (AM drive) and runs satellite (mostly tape delayed) the rest of the day.

Sounds like Spittle is taking a huge risk on his first programming move.

From what I understand Mcfarland was a pizza shop manager just a few years ago until Spittle discovered him. Maybe (until now) he's been in the pizza business the entire time? Afterall you can't make a living off a parttime radio job, certainly not in Las Vegas.

I'm in Vegas and can say Mcfarland does a decent job. If I happen to be scanning talk radio on a Saturady his show usually catches my attention. He picks good topics and it seems I agree with him on a lot of issues. He doesn't have much of a radio voice, but this might make him seem more "real". Since he's younger than most talk hosts he might help lower KRLDs demos. Not a lot of experience, but there probably aren't that many great talk hosts floating around these days.
