So Who is really Programming 101.5 The Point?

Okay im not complaining or anything but I working at home today listening to 101.5 The Point. I have heard their midday DJ every other break push the hell out of " The Last Song Played" link!! 3 frickn times an hour!!! Come on whats up with that? I would like someone to explain that for me.

because that jock ain't gonna tell what the last song played was.......he's in fargo north dakota.

all the cox money in this market is going to bubba. i saw cox interviewing homeless guys to be board ops.....

the DJs on 93 Rock in Miami also talk about the last songs played every DJ break and has done it for years. It is sooooo annoying. The DJs sound worse than a college radio station.

As hard as it is to believe Dick Raines, Jess Andrews and whoever else they've got on there...voice tracked or not, are all from within the building Dick and Jess both work for 97x.

It appears as if 101.5 is largely being ran by 97x staff.

I believe though they are largely voice tracked as Dick is on during the week on The Point from 11 am to like 6 pm, and then on at night on 97x from 11 pm or 12 am to like 5 am, I highly doubt he works 18 hour days. Plus Jess Andrews is on the point at the same time she's on 97x nightly.

Believe it or not, I like the Point better now more than ever.

I think it's mandated at every single Cox station. I hear the same drill on country K92 Orlando, rock WBAB Long Island, etc.

Yeah thats true, besides a 4 hour VT show can be down in 45 minutes or less if your good!....I know I used to VT for a few stations in Maine when I was @ WBZZ The Buzz a few yrs back.....Ooops the cats out of the bag now! It was easy money and besides it offset the crap pay Infinity was paying me!

Speaking of 101.5, I am growing to like their HD-2 channel. It is a nice break from the same old '80s stuff they play on the regular frequency. I liken it to a combo of Mix 100.7, the old Star 95.7, and the current 101.5.

There are some good people who "program" for Cox and I mean no disrespect, but the mighty
hand of BOB programs everything Cox. Every Cox format is like making, what is called, "a reduction" in culinary terms. Every ingredient in the recipe, no matter where the "dish" is served, is precisely the same. To deviate would turn BOB's world into an OCP fit.

From what it sounds like, they're taking a lot less than 45 minutes to do a shift... I had them on just a few minutes ago and the girl who's on at night was most definitely voicetracked. Anytime one of her tracks was playing, you could hear the song echoing in the background- Guess someone forgot to setup the board so the music didn't feed back into the system! Really didn't sound too good, and heard it go on for about an hour, so guessing Cox isn't monitoring their stations in the evening.

But that brings up a good thought... how many of your average joe shmoe listeners can tell the difference between a live and voicetracked shift? (Well, a voicetracked shift when done right... if there is a right way to do it)
