How was Carson's new show on AMP? I couldn't hear it since I pretty much forgot about it...

I listened in for an hour and it's just what I expected. It's not actually a show, he's just DJ-ing and doing the typical stuff (time and giving out tickets) and of course playing music. Like he says "I'm not exactly getting people through traffic, Lady GaGa's getting people through traffic" in this interview from his first day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipa-pF5Hi0A). I would have liked it if he talked a little more but he's not bad at all! Props to AMP for making such a good selection for morning drive!

Intresting... hopefully they can let him talk a little more, then they will be beating Ryan Seacrest. Carson's got personality, hes a funny guy but he should talk a little more or make little jokes... I'm gonna check out Nick Cannon's new 92.3 NOW show. I would like to see how that will go.

I agree with romer. I would never evaluate an air personality's performance on his first day at a station. On a music intensive station, it takes a while to get in sync with the rhythm and vibe of the place. I've had many "first days" at stations (more than I'd have liked), and I can tell you most of 'em were pretty weak. It really does take several shows to hit a stride, especially for a guy who's been away from radio for a while as Carson has.

The thing is Carson didn't really lose any rhythm. He matches perfectly with the AMP format. Carson's a professional, he's a performer and he knows how to deliver. He was doing very good, many people can't agree with that right now because they haven't even listened yet! Make a correct call and take the time to listen in a little from 6-10 tomorrow morning and you'll see what I'm talking about

I took a break from my usual morning ritual of iPod or Sirius XM and listened to Carson today. So far, I think he is an excellent choice for this station. More praise to Kevin Weatherly, who took an unlikely cast of white males, including many former KROQ personalities, and somehow created a great CHR for a market like Los Angeles.

Granted, I only heard a little of Carson this morning, but he had the right energy for the station. He would make a few comments, then cut back to the songs.
