I don't live in CA. But I say CBS 8 out of San Deigo which is KFMB 8. I saw some of their coverage on youtube. Coverage looked real good. Also I feel sorry for the reporter who works at KFMB CBS 8 who lost his home. Its sad to see so much damage from these fires. Thoughts and prayers go out to people who lost homes and their business in CA. This has to be the worst thing to happen to CA since the 1989 Earthquake that hit the Bay Area.

KCBS & KCAL asleep at the wheel Sunday morning when the fire broke out, KABC 7, KCOP 13 & KTTV 11 had the best coverage early on. Can you belive it! KCOP 13 beat KCBS 2 & KCAL 9 to covering the fire. KNBC was not sure if they wanted to get their feet burned, broke away for network programming then jumped back in, very weak, KNBC is like watching small market TV with over paid Anchors and Coke heads like Fred.

The best ONLINE coverage hands down was on knbc.com. They had a raw coverage stream going that was separate from their on-air feed. With family living up in Crestline, and only kcal available on my local cable, I was able to stay up to date with live updates all day long thru their website.
BTW, I did check into other sites for ktla, kcbs,etc...ALL were posting text, and usually hours after the fact.
Kudos to knbc.com.

I beleive that the KNBC 'raw feed' for news is also available 'off-the-air' on their digital sub-channel as well. KNBC DT-3 if my memory serves me right.

TV coverage in San Diego was rather awful from what I read on a Union-Tribune blog.

CBS8 did replace its website with a splash page about the wildfires -- homes lost, evacuation orders, shelters, supplies needed, insurance, etc., etc.

A reporter for CBS8 lost his home to the wildfires. His story made CBS News nationwide.
