He was replaced by Nathan Symington, who was part of the former president's social media inner circle. Now that this has been removed from the FCC's list of thing, it's hard to see any purpose for Symington to remain. Other than to collect a check.
 
These politicians crying to create regulations to hold private businesses accountable for crowd-sourced posts is almost laughable. Not only is it unconstitutional, I'm sure they know deep down that none of it has a shot at being passed by both sides of Congress and POTUS. This is all political theater to gin up their separate bases (aka fundraising), and make it appear they're actually doing something for their Taxpayer-paid salaries.
 
A Florida law, inspired by Trump, has been put on hold by a federal judge citing the first amendment:

Hinkle said the law's ban on "deplatforming" likely violated the free speech rights of the tech companies, which under the First Amendment are generally free to decide what to publish without government interference.

"The legislation compels providers to host speech that violates their standards — speech they otherwise would not host — and forbids providers from speaking as they otherwise would," he wrote.

As we've said, social media sites have rights too. This has nothing to do with Section 230.
