Sohio Weather Sounder

If anyone else remembers, 1230 WCOL (rocking back in the sixties!!) only sold 60 second spots and they would run alone (no long spot breaks for them), but how could you ignore the big buys that SOHIO did when the temperature dropped and all of a sudden you had these write in :15 spots all over the logs. Of course we read them live but it was a departure from the norm. I dont remember the sounder back then, but there are a few things about the sixties that I cant remember........ ;) Ahhhh, the good old days, thats why I am NOSTALGIA!!!!

Ah, that brings back fond memories. I too would like to know where to find such gems.
Hearing the wind whistling in the background of that sounder reminds me all too much of winter in the midwest. ;)

It reminds me of sitting at the kitchen table in the morning, while waiting for breakfast before school, with Bill Hamilton on WBNS blaring out of my mother's white Sears Sivertone radio. Incidentally, that is when I also used to hear commercials for "The Allegheny Air System ... we have a lot more going for you." One of the more memorable jingles.

Don't know who Bill Hamilton is? I'm sure you've heard the voice! He was one of my all-time favorite voice talents.

Here's one of his ads:
