Their morning show isn’t that bad, it’s pretty good actually. For listeners like me who were Raul Brindis fans this is great. It seems like they’re mimicking Raul’s format. If Raul never has a morning show again this is a great option. Reminds me of the days when Raul would go on vacation on El Borrego would run it.
Commence broadcasting? Was this deal not made like 6 years ago? Just asking

Raul was out at the Alamo Flea Market or Pulga a week ago, he mentions returning back on air next year. Sure seems like he is trying to get back in with the public, rarely see Raul in public , especially in a Pulga.

It seems challenging for a large public corporation such as SBS to finalize a minor transaction like KROI that shouls take 30 - 60 days. Consider how much more difficult it must be for a small local company to secure a few million dollars. It took big SBS two years to finalize this deal, so it's puzzling why you wouldn't consider the team at 5353 W Alabama to be lacking foresight for not completing the KTWL transaction when you believe it was the right time. I don't know, just asking lol....
I live in Montgomery County so I can easily hear BOTH signals. Ever since Power 105.3 lit up the air waves I’ve only ever heard Texas Mix on KTWL
SBS would have their station on by that point, but I doubt Brindis would be part of it at all, let alone morning drive. They have Terry Cortez already.

I decided to monitor SOL.
FM audio is way ahead of the HD about 45 seconds.
If FM is receiving HD audio as the STL path, there is something very wrong.
The HD audio is horrible, it even has a lot of BER from what ever codec unit they receive. Im just taking a wild guess that the FM audio is not a feed from the HD.

It does sound somewhat like when you’re streaming and it wants to buffer. I hear a little buzz once in a while.
If FM was receiving the HD, then FM should be ahead of HD for about 8 seconds. FM being ahead of HD, is almost impossible without adding delay for no reason.

Yes, sorry got all mixed up here. usually if you dont setup the delay on the processor or exporter, it will be 0 seconds delay on FM.
HD will not be delayed usually, the FM would be direct to air and be ahead of HD abbout 8 seconds. So you have to adjust the FM Delay on Processor or Exporter to align with HD.
Now with new Exporters, these unit monitor the Air signal and has auto alignment, but they are only available on the Primary FM and HD 1. They are not for the other subchannels. SubChannels 2,3,4 and so on usually do not external processing after the exporter, its usually done before the importer.
So to have a FM way ahead of its HD translator is like having a full grown chicken before the egg. Some Back to the Future going one here. LOL
If the HD was a STL, the FM should be at least within a second delayed after the HD. But its FM audio is already on air before the HD can spit it out.
The 101.7 Pasadena and the 101.7 in Downtown fighting it out with a 2 second delay is a HOT MESS!
Same was happening with LA MEJOR on 102.5 K273AL and KJFI-LP 102.5. But they had like almost a 4 second delay. By the way are these 2 on air anymore? Haven’t even tried to listen anymore.
Are both K269GT and K269GS running Sol Radio? The TOHID only gives K269GT along with KHPT HD-3.
Of course both signals on 101.7 would be legal if they have 106.9 HD-3 as a primary. Interesting that Sol Radio’s branding includes the HD-3.
I am not in Sol Radio’s target demographic, nor do I have extensive knowledge of the music, but it seems to be Regional Mexican, yet not as “Country” as other RM stations in the market. How similar or different is Sol to other stations here?
