Solar Flares

Anyone getting anything interesting due to the recent uptick in solar activity?

My XM was completely out this morning, couldn't lock on to either satellite, and the repeater network appears to be down.

FM signals are weaker here. I always get issues with FM (popcorn static, etc) when there are solar flaires. Once all FM except for the 3 ones that transmit here in town just suddenly went dead on all my radios for about a half hour.<P ID="signature">______________

4am cdt Friday morning, in dfw, heard very clearly KOA, WWL, WHAS, XEG. Reasonable reception for XEEP, plus WLS, WBBM, and something at 860 I couldn't identify.

South of Chicago this morning, I noticed that all of the "almost-DX" stations on FM were mostly covered by thermal noise, almost as if every local station added IBOC. AM yielded normal daytime reception.

Even though this was the overnight hours, WZVN was terrible in its COL. There was so much static. 7 miles up the road is sister station's tower, WXRD licensed to Crown Point Indiana, same thing, too much static. It was ok today during the daytime. I don't know what'll happen tonight. I even had problems with Chicago stations except for those operating in IBOC. Those stations were fine. I thought maybe it was tropo from Michigan & Wisconsin as well as central Indiana, but I didn't get any distant stations on 1st or second adjacents last night.
