Solution? "We want the old jocks back!" - "Never, they're too old!"
Here's an idea that might solve this argument: we want 'em; they're too old:
"Best Ofs..."
XM is re-running all the old Casey Kasem shows. Perhaps CBS could do that with some of the older Jox who are no longer physically capable nor have the desire to participate with the stress of a daily show. Run an hour a day (or more depending on how it works out) of "Best Of" Ingram shows in PMD. Likewise with Brucie and the others. It's not like the music's changed! Insert the new spots and current weather, traffic (with time checks) etc.
The more recent shows probably feature remastered oldies and could go directly on air. If not, select an appropriate song that matches the patter and plug it in, so you get the digital quality. Shazamm - "It's the Dan Ingram Show;" or Cuz or any of the other jocks.
I'm assuming someone's got the airchecks. You've got the song intros and runups to deal with, but those are details that any good engineer can probably make work, especially since it will all be pre-recorded with appropriately selected snippets. Waitaminute. "Engineers;" "Make work?" Uh-oh

Compensation, non-competes etc. would also have to be worked out, but those, too, are details and what lawyers get paid to figure out.
There's probably dozens of members who will write and tell us why it can't be done. Not to leave those opinions out, but I'd also appreciate it if someone could think of how it could be done. Whaddaya think?
