I have some old cassettes I dug up and have made for our benefit at the following link I created a wide variety of Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown airchecks from the 80's amongst the G98 one I started. You have to hold your mouse over each audio file to see the description of which is which at the site. If anyone has trouble, let me know and I will let you know my user name and password. I have more to add and apologize for the low sounding quality. It is the best I can do. You may hear background noise as well. I have a neurological disorder and do the best I can to get by so please bear with me as these airchecks I salvaged for years and now want to share them with you.
The folks you hear on these are the likes of Kid Leo, AC McCullough still on Hot 101, Bob Popa now at WPIC (those Hot FM 101 days though), Cat Shannon, Buzzard Morning Zoo closings (notice the old Revco commercial too with "You need all the Revco you can get")
Kelly Kyle of WJER 101.7 now defunct fame who did a Sunday night shift after Rick Allen in July 1988 when WKDD was at 96 on the dial. Have her on WJER from that same year as well and you can compare the more mild tone of her voice as well. This is a rare tape.
Also have Gene Wise somewhere as well as JR Richards and found Tom Sullivan when he was on WKDD as well. Very brief bits of them though, but when I get them will post those airchecks as well. Also the Northeast Ohio aircheck starts out with Wendy Miller from Y103/Lite Rock 102.9 Youngstown fame who also did weekends on WLTF as well as middays on WONE. Don't know what ever happened to her.
At one point you can hear WNIR's Joey Harper doing Gameradio with the Geauga Lake jingle in the background. Remember that show she hosted with Bob Roberts?
