Some area ownership changes

Oh great...another update needed now for my KDNT history site. ::)

Those signally-challenged stations buried on the dead side of the dial are sure going for a lot of money. And that 102.5 translator...if they would price it out separately, I'd gladly buy it and take the damn thing off the air to allow KMAD to beam into DFW AGAIN!! (BTW, I believe 102.5 has been a repeater all this time for KGGR, but the article says it repeats for KTNO and will be part of the sale of 1440. What's correct?)

It was for KGGR. I listen to it sometimes.

Isn't it strange how things have turned around? The price for both is over $2 million but I'd say the translator is worth many times more than KTNO. Even with 50,000 watts 1440 really doesn't get out that well, the nighttime signal is horrific and duh, it's AM. These days there are really only two (okay, maybe three, I mean 2 1/2) AM stations that still have any significance when it comes to revenue.

It also gives Salem a real translator instead of the "emergency" ones they have now. 102.5 doesn't seem to have the signal of 92.9/95.5. I wonder if it's possible to have a translator on 102.5 in Tarrant County?

After being off this morning, it looks like the 102.5 translator made the switch to relaying KTNO today. Not much change at KTNO -- still Spanish religious, but now "Radio Luz 1440 y 102.5." Salem has similar "Radio Luz" religious outlets in Miami and Boston, so guessing they are purchasing KTNO and the former KGGR translator for the same thing here.
