Some changes in Anchorage radio

Longtime smooth Jazz KNIK 105.7 FM did a flip last month, to AC (old & new favs), and new calls KNLT. The KNIK call letters went to 87.7 and with a traditional jazz/blues format. Also, KHAR 590 AM is now also offered over 96.7 FM, so you can get that format in two places now. Any thoughts?

Maybe if KENI could be duplicated on an FM it might be possible, once again, to hear it beyond Eagle River. Whatever they did to their AM plant may have saved them some bucks on power but it sure hasn't enhanced (let alone restored) coverage. Their alleged 50 kW on 650 cannot equal the results by the 10 kW of KBYR 50 kHz up the dial!

Or is that 50 kW just an allegation...perhaps a flashback to happier days?
