Some Coast changes

I've noticed they've added some lighter stuff: Gloria Estefan ballad, one of those Bette Midler ballads (forgot which), Vanessa Williams. I don't think they've stopped playing some of the hotter ac music they always have but I think they're balancing it more with softer stuff they had stopped playing. Frankly I don't even know if I'd call them hot ac anymore. Kind of in between ac and hot ac. No repeat workdays means fewer current spins anyway. Also you get to their website whether you use wsne.com, coast933.com, or the new 933coastfm.com. Wonder if any more changes are comin'? I just don't see them signing on with Whoopie going in this music direction.

Good observations Feral. I've noticed them too. As for Whoopie. I'm pretty sure that any station can run her. The local Clear Channel stations plug in their own music and I know AC was one of the target formats. I hear changes are coming... and Whoopie is one of them!

Whoopi is a talented woman but non-local morning shows are bad moves. Too many celebrities who are becoming less marketable in other media are turning to radio. Does anyone in show biz at the top of his or her game do it? No! Radio isn't a place for these personalities to slum. Whether I like a station, format, or show or not is immaterial. It's a bad idea. Even if she ends up successful in certain markets, she isn't going to last unless she's successful across the board & that will not happen. If she does end up on Coast I'll predict a longer run than Joan Rivers had on WPRO but that's about it. After the curiosity factor fades she'd better come up with a script for Sister Act 3.

i just hope whatever other changes are comming... it involves delilah... i really dont think she fits in with that station at all...they have ran her long enough in my opinion

Is'nt this what they did with the Bee.Playing Fleetwood Mac then Steve Miller then to what they are now. A slow change with some unoticable changes little by little. Could they be going into a lighter mode down the road and this is first step to move away from Lite?As for Delilah if WSNE dumps her she will in no doubt show up on Lite.

For station that has always touted itself as doing well in its target demo why the constant budget cuts? And that's what they are in a nutshell. It started with the elimination of Jones which was a false move. That show is not supposed to be an AC morning zoo. Before completely dumping it they should trim it.I don't like Joan E on air but think she knows her audience and is good for the station.Trim it to Joan,Chuck and a producer who can also get participate on the same level. That's what PRO-FM does.

WHOOPIE

Does anyone remember her late night tv talk show?It didn't last long, with good reason. She had good guest, lucky for her,and all she did was respond to the guest with "Ya Ya right". extremely boring.
