Some Effects I'd Like to Try

Just out of curiosity (and the possible want of using these effects in the near future), does anyone know how I'd go about the following effects?

1) The "Matrix" effect. I'd like to be able to accomplish the feat of making my voice sort of digitize out, like what you hear when a character from The Matrix is talking while dialing back into the "real world". I've heard Scott Shannon do this in some liners for Sean Hannity, but I can't seem to figure out how it's done. Any ideas?

2) I'm not quite sure how to describe this one, but I've heard it in several songs over the years. It's not the sonovox or vocoder effect, as the talent's voice is unaltered, but the effect takes the voice and restricts it to the exact musical note you want. I'd point out an example song, but I can't recall the title of the song I'm thinking of. I believe it was done by Brandy. It's usually something done in just a brief part of the song near the end. Hopefully this is making sense to someone :) I'd appreciate any help in trying to figure out how to get this one done as well.

Both of these are really cool effects that I'd love to use at some point in time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
______________

As far as the second effect you're looking for......The best way I can describe it is pitch correction to the extreeme. I'm sure there's a pitch correction plug in that may prove useful, but I know those were done with hardware ( i'm not sure of specifics)

If anyone knows, share the wealth :)

If you have Adobe Audition...just shade the section of audio you want to "digitize" and "time stretch" the hell out of it - then just chop out little fragments until you get the length you want.

And to Igor:

The "Colon Claw" bit made me shart myself! Good stuff...

I'm looking for something to make a voice sound like a record or tape slowing down. It has to be a continual effect. I can do it with my pitch shift, but it's not that believable. There's a plug in for ProTools, but I need a VST plug in.
Anyone??

Eh, it may be dated, but if used properly, it still works!
______________

Re: The second effect is here.

Its true. The problem w/ this effect was overused (is from 1997!), I agree , It´s a very good effect if used in moderation.

I wonder if WAVES Morphoder (Diamond package) plug in can create the desired effect? I have it...just not adept at playing with it.
______________

Anything similar in Audition? I don't have Sound Forge (nor do I have the money to drop on it right now).
______________

Re: The second effect is here.

Just a quick update: I noticed last night that Audition 1.5 comes with a pitch correction plug-in. I haven't had the time to mess with it yet, but it looks like it's a bit easier to use than the program pointed out earlier in this thread. Anyone used the Audition plug-in yet?
______________
