Look how long I-100 has been gone, its been 17 years and people still talk about it and want it back,, other knox stations would be lost and forgotten with a few months if they signed off.. I bet if I-100 came back their ratings would sky rocket,, either with their old 80s playlist, or a more HOT CHR to compete with star.

It will never happen. The people responsible for it are doing other things. Pirkle Jr. is making guns and Pirkle Sr. is cashing big checks.

Yeah but some of us are thinking of reviving it on the net.

Max 105.3, the all 80's station was a great station (2000-2003). It only lasted about 3 years, but had commanded some pretty good ratings during it's lifetime. . .it possibly had the best ratings of any of the formats that were on 105.3 FM. Too bad it didn't have the sales manpower to make it successful as far as revenue is concerned. It was an easy sale, but it is hard to make successful when you have too many properties and not enough salespeople.

In reality, I think you are the only person that I know of that is still talking about I-100 and as far as I know, you are the only one that wants it back. The people that I've spoken with about I-100 are pretty much indifferent to about wanting I-100 back.

jwk1979, I think you're right..
Nobody wants the old I-100 back.

There are plenty of stations in Knoxville and the East Tennessee markets that are playing the same stuff NOW, that I-100 played back then. Nowadays, that music is called 'OLDIES'.

Whatever made I-100 different, and whatever people who did it, is lost in time and space, and neither ain't coming back.

It's OK to dream, y'all.

The truth is.. nobody wants I-100 back.
It just makes for good conversation.

I do.

It was better than the garbage that's on the air now.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that, but go back and re-read what a previous poster said:

This is absolutely true. There is no way that your memory of I-100 (or insert your favorite station of the past here) could ever hold a candle to any kind of present day recreation.
