Its progress, get one and get over it.

I guess I'll never understand whats different about distant programming.

What if your favorite distant stations got HD? Would you thing its boring then?

As for NPR? I don't listen to it so they can go away if they want. They could then ease up on their "beg-a-thons"

What Mariner77 said below.

I guess I should have been clearer here, I meant to compare Satellite Radio to Cable TV where Cable TV is full of infomercial now.

YMMV, is that like LMAO?

I don't get that at all. I find the distant stations to unreliable(poor reception) to get anything of value rom them.

Not a card carrying member, sorry. But I did get WRAL-HD1 and HD2 via skip one afternoon this summer. I put away the Viagra after that. (Digital DX'ing FM 101.5)

If I won a prize on WRAL I hope its plane tickets.

I guess I should have said old enough to have outgrown sitting next to my radio moving the antenna around constantly just to keep a station clear enough to listen to.

So you could hear the echo.

Now go get satellite radio so you can listen to Opie and Anthony Fart

I can't, there are infomercials on.

What if a few LPFMs or translators appeared in your neighborhood?

Would you take issue with that?

Quadraphonic was not progress in the 70s....I didn't buy one then either. Don't tell me what to do HD. I will not buy one unless THE PROGRAMMING makes it worth it....Do you have a reading comprehension problem?
>

Read my previous posts...programming and content will make me buy a new product....btw which model do you have???

It's going to be real tough to dx HD....not impossible but tough. DXng HD TV is a lot harder than it analog.
>

Sure..that makes sense but it also makes it more like SAT radio...Also what do you listen to?

So you are basing that on a just what you've seen on TV...OK...not very scientific.

Your mileage may vary.

But yet above you mention that you DX??? You are not making sense.

Glad to hear you've weaned yourself off the Viagra....Also glad to hear you got some digital DX...all is not lost...but its still not enough for me to embrace HD Radio.

Touche...but that's not what I do....My life is full (wife, kids, work, other hobbies....and yeah I do turn the antenna to keep a station in the clear that I used to be able to hear on just my boombox before HD..But I like its content...That's the #$% point.

Ahhh....Well if someone farted over WLNG then I could hear the echo without HD.

Hate Opie and Anthony...will get Sat radio to listen to MLB, other sports, Howard Stern, and other interesting programming

Hehe....You have a choice...use the clicker...I have a choice (or I did until HD radio narrowed them down).

Now...as a I said in another post you can contact me via email if you want to keep this going....But right now I have more important things to do like playing with my kids and enjoying this beautiful late summer day.

Ibiquity thanks you for your $$$.

That all depends on content. Right now I have to deal with a pirate on 89.3 but any kind of good dx covers them up. Most LPFMs and translators can be dxed around if you have the right equipment.

> Sure I do, my HD tuner will never cost me another cent.

It will, if it's like the rest of today's cheezy disposable consumer electronics. Just wait until shortly after the warranty expires.

HD Ready, please show yourself.

If you are so "gung-ho" about IBOC and obviously you are, why not show the world who you are. You've been so vocal about this "end all" for radio, hey..... "put your mouth where your money is" (play on words, folks....) and tell us who you are. You are obviously in the business (or WISH to be). You seem to be so, so... "knowledgeable" about this "exciting development" of radio, prove your worth and tell us who you are or, what radio station you work for.... or if you work in radio or TV at all. Inquiring minds want to know.............

We're waiting.....

OH YEAH!

That 96 Kbps data stream makes GREAT digital stereo!
I'll bet it sounds almost as good as a BAD (128K) MP3 !

....and let's not forget that GREAT 24 Kbps sound that AM IBAC has!
After all, AM has ALMOST as much resolution as my MONO VOICE DICTATION RECORDER (It has 32 Kbps).
