I was driving home from work in Conway, NH this afternoon and while tuning into WHEB 100.3 it was getting beat on by some kind of Carribean music. This is usual I thought do decided to do a bandscan and picked up talk on 104.1 where there is usually nothing there. I left it on cause it right was before 4 o'clock and heard the ID for WTKS licensed to Cocoa Beach, FL. Check out a few other stations and got Urban music on 94.5 and country on 92.3 Checked out radio-locator and there all the stations I grabbed were there and from the Orlando area.

I love when this happens.

I remember once sitting in a parking lot in South Burlington VT, one mile from the transmitter/tower for what is now WOKO-FM 98.9, and it could not be heard, I heard a station from Missouri on that frequency for a solid 10 minutes...

I have another WOKO story. One time I was sitting in my room at Dunfey's hotel in South Burlington dial surfing and 'OKO was so strong that it wiped out the entire FM band! I know ground level full-power FMs can do that, but I can't believe the other broadcasters in Burlington tolerated that.

I also remember being in Reading Pennsylvania at a parking lot on the side of a hill picking up CITI-FM out of Winnipeg, MN on I think it was 92.1.

Speaking of Pennsylvania, I also heard WIP-AM in Minneapolis one winter day doing a Flyers hockey game.

Ain't DXing fun?
