Some Hints of Change in FWB..

I'm guessing both Cumulus and Apex are breaking the mold. Hearing oldies from the 70s on Coast 93.3 (their format is 80s, 90s and today..)

WWAV is playing more EMO music, breaking from the classic hits department - is the blaze not blazing in the ratings? Their signal sucks out here.

If Cumulus should decide on a switch, they should make Coast 93.3 to Oldies or Beach 93.3 the oldies station playing classic hits, and rebrand Z to Mix 96.5.. with a strong emphases on today's hits and some of yesterdays favorites.

Would make for interesting radio, and if this does happen, maybe Tom Kent can come to 93.3 whatever they decide to do..if they choose..

Maybe my vocabulary is old but I would think Emo music would be confined to a few small college radio stations... you say they're playing the stuff on WWAV? If that's the game they're going to play they should just go ahead and flip 103.1 from Active to Alternative. WWAV has been doing ok for them with the classic hits format.

Blaze numbers seem pretty lackluster. I'd think it's a tough sell, as well. APEX sure seems to be aggressive on making changes on and at their facilities, but it makes me wonder if it was perhaps a little to much for the market???

A bit off subject, but has Powell made any real changes in PCB yet, CCENG, etc?

Well it seems that The Blaze seems to be trying to appeal to the younger rock demo. The problem is they seem to play a lot of rock that was popular back in 1999 but not necessarily today. WWAV has definitely embraced the "Jack" format. I heard young mc on there the other day which boggles my mind but what do I know. Rob, they better not lay a hand on Coast 933. I need my awesome 80's weekend!!

Why would Cumulus mess with any of their FWB stations? Last time I saw the ratings they owned the top 5 spots with that cluster.
