Two panhandle area changes were in today's digest so I thought I'd mention them both here to save clutter.
First and foremost, I saw where WWAV has received a CP to move from Santa Rosa Beach west to the "Apex tower" where WPSM, WNCV, WHWY and WTKE are sited. They'll keep 50 kW and gain some height. If built out, the trees and beach mice out towards PCB will lose the station but the upshot is better coverage around Eglin and rimshotting Pensacola.
The second is a Pensacola-bound translator has finally come un-stuck but the latest update may not be cause for excitement. W277CC on 103.3 had been hung up, with the facility listed as being on the WYCT stick, rebroadcasting that station. It now has a CP to make the hop right on into "the upside of Florida" (snicker)… but instead of WYCT it now shows WDWR-AM. It's also sited to be on their AM tower.
I realize that could change again with another minor modification, but if it picks up the Catholic programming that'll dash any hopes of this bringing a new (commercial) format to FM in town.
