Some more non-transmitter news

A little bit late, but here goes anyway...

You all remember there being some pirate stations on 99.5 (one in Bristol and one in Middletown) and that the guys in Bristol got in trouble for racist remarks on the air, well, apparently the FCC doesn't want to pursue them

(Quoting an article in the Bristol Press...) "The investigators further stated that the FCC has indicated there were no violations in Valentine’s use of the radio and it would not be pursuing an investigation."

Here's the link to the full article...

If these guys didn't violate the FCC rules, and I was able to pull them in from the backwoods of Portland, then I am going to have to have a talk with the guy who set up WKDH-FM Middletown and tell them go back on the air, because that operation was definitly less power than the Bristol station.

I love pirate radio, definitely tell him to go back on the air! :)

At least some pirate stations in the area would give us something to talk about.

Hmm, well, there wasn't too much to talk about as far as the station goes, it was not running anywhere near the amount of power that people might think (it barely made it 4 blocks south) but due to the proximity to the river, the signal carried over the water and would actually be heard in areas along the river) I dare say if the signal was ever measured, I doubt it wouldn't be classed as a part 15. As far as the music goes, it would still the same Hip-Hop and R&B format as I programmed for them before, especially since I haven't stopped doing the internet streams for the station which are at live365 and can be found directly from the station's website at wkdh.freeservers.com.

I'm not sure if they will go back on or not, all depends on how often the bunch of us can meet up and decide what to do and mainly on my amount of free time as I'm working 56 hours a week these days and don't have much time to do the voice work that was planned for (sorta like voice tracking)
