Some news and suggestions for TV in Iowa....

First, the news: Des Moines' KDMI-DT changed it's call letters to KCWI-DT, and if I understand www.wikipedia.org correctly, the digital-only channel will be airing My Network TV and the CW in HD while WB 23 airs only the CW programming. I personally think this is stupid--KPWB-TV should be KCWI and just let DT Channel 56 air MyNet. Also, I would've suggested that since WB 20 in Iowa City has both the CW and MyNet, it should air the CW on analog channel 20, then create a DT sub-channel and call it "My KWKB" and have that air MyNet--but then, I heard about a new DT sub-channel on KCRG-TV ABC Channel 9 that airs Oprah repeats--so if nothing else, why not just let My Network TV precede Oprah on DT 9.2? Also, Megan Mullally will air on CW 20--anyone know about any other programs? Also, did KWKB have a falling out with certain shows as they are no longer on the station?

For the love of Mike, will someone create tv-info.com so people will stop posting television comments here!

Now...before someone has kittens over my post...chill baby. It's just a joke.

KWKB had a falling out with KCRG over their inability to pay KCRG for bills owed.

And yes, TV sucks. It's for stupid people who have no imagination.

Can someone explain KCRG's new 9.2? I see the promos and wonder Who? Where? How? Ummm, I'm not afraid to look totally incompetent here. It is just t.v., afterall! ;D

9.2 is the part of KCRG's multicasting offerings. With HD, you can send the HD signal along with 3 or 4 analog signals. KWWL sends their HD signal with 7.2 - Weather Plus, a 24 national weather network with taped local cut-ins and 7.3 - The tube, a music video station.

KCRG currently is offering just 9.2 which includes some reruns of other programs as well as a news ticker - update loop that includes a local news update, weather update, some promo material and old feature stories or the golden klutz awards. The news and weather updates run every 15 minutes, the other stuff rotates in each hour. I think they are still, as they have done for some time, just showing radar overnight. I'm told that Mediacom will be adding 9.2 to their digital cable line up soon...HDTV receivers can also pick it up.

Hope that helps...trust me, it's the greatest technology advance since AM stereo....
