1. FM 88.9's AlterNation and Sunday Oldies Jukebox are heading into the final few days of their annual (as in, we only do it once a year...unlike PBS) fund drive. This is how the station operates and how it can bring modern rock and the best oldies of the 50s and 60s (ok, maybe even some early 70s--if you donate :)) to Akron, Kent, and all of Northern Ohio.

We're not here to beg, just to inform you how we operate. Without the listeners and our financial supporters, the station would be Gregorian chants performed by mimes...or something. So, if the best new modern rock and the best oldies of all time are worth anything to you, please help us keep this great music alive.

Pledges and donations are being taken online via PayPal at http://www.sundayoldiesjukebox.com. Or phone the studio memebership line at (330) 626-4906. All major credit cards accepted, as well as checks and good, hard, cold, green (or whatever color the US is engraving now) cash.

Two levels of support get your some great incentives (T-Shirts, radios, bottle openers, ticket giveaways, etc.) starting at $35.00 A YEAR (that's cheaper than beer!)

2. I'm sure we've all worked in a crppy-ass studio at one time or another. But no doubt that was years ago. That is, unless you're at Case Western Reserve University, whose WRUW was using "state-of-the-art" paneled 1970s era studios until December 2005.

Now, they've got new digs and they are beautiful!
