Some questions on WAMS

WAMS is owned and operated by East Coast Broadcasting, Inc. Yes, WAMS was on 1380 until Mr. Farley sold the property under the tower site. WAMS was dark for many years until the State of Delaware purchased the license.

Well, who owns and operates East Coast Broadcasting, Inc.? ???

According to a check of the FCC datbase, Simulcast Sister WRJE 1600 is owned by WXXY Broadcasting, Inc, which has the same owners/principals as WXXY-FM and WAMS-FM. altho all are owned under different corporate names.

Gee, two threads at once trying to figure out the name of the idiot who owns "WAMS."

The station goes dark. Does not surrender its license. And some politically connected SOB sells a useless license to the taxpayers, who over-paid greatly for it. What gives?

WAMS was to have been sold to a company from the DC area, but that fell through when a Philly FM went Spansh. I heard that the owner of a small am on the lower shore of Maryland has been talking to the owners about buying it and possibly the Dover station(former WKEN, I can't keep up with all the call letter changes).

We receive a few calls a week from people who want to purchase WAMS. Anything is for sale if the price is right. WAMS is doing very well now that we are simulcasting on 1600 in Dover. The entire state Of Delaware is serviced by WAMS Oldies. If you have any questions feel free to call the station at 455-WAMS.
