Some suggestions for the Quincy market

Now that we know that WGEM will be carrying The CW 100+ on a sub-channel, here are some suggestions:

1. Since KHQA is currently carrying UPN programs on the side, it will have some free time come fall. It should consider airing ABC programs in place of programs like 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'Smackdown', since Quincy has no ABC affiliate, or....

2. KHQA could convert it's sub-channel into a primary ABC station--even better! Then the Quincy market could have access to five networks!

>>>I'd like to see something happen with the radio stations in that area, I lived and worked for WQCY/WTAD in the early 90s. Anyone looking?

Isn't Channel 3 out of Ottumwa the defacto Quincy ABC affiliate? I'd think cable penetration would be pretty high there. I worked at KGRC in the mid 80s.
______________

So did I.

I recall when 3's tower came down in 1987. What a sad day.... Never was rebuilt because the ratings just didn't go up enough for them to justify the rebuild.

Who are you? I worked at KGRC from 1987-89. Chuck Yates and Michael O'Connor were the PD's at the time.

Drop me an e-mail at the address in my profile. I was there for a very short time, 1985-86. O'Connor and Yates were there at the time, I understand Chuck is still in the market, as well as his now ex-wife, Jeanne. Is Michael O'Connor still around?
______________
