SOME THOUGHTS ON RADIO

I saw that The Buzz has done well. As much as I hate to admit it, Bazzel is the best sounding guy on that morning show. Tommy is annoying and Wally Hall is a goof too. But there is not competition for them. They are the only horse in town. Magic 105 needs to do something. They could compete and dominate again if they got a good mornng show there. But who would do it?

Internet radio is just a fad. I don't know Scott Freeman, but Pat Lynch, Gordon Heidges and the gang won't make an impact. And how will it succeed from a revenue standpoint? I wish them luck, but it does not seem to be working.

Corey and Jay sit around and read stupid stories all morning. Then they play canned bits that have nothing to with Arkansas. Get rid of them.

And for all of you Stanley Knox haters, he's moving out of Arkansas. I was at Landers Toyota test driving a car and I aksed the salesmen who was helping me how he was doing. He said that Stanley just resigned and was returning to radio up north. I asked where and he did not know. Good riddance. He never fit in here, although I think he was talented.

That's all for now...

I agree with you to a certain extent on your opening paragraph, "The Baz" is the best self promoter I have ever seen and I do think that he is under appreciated to a certain extent when it comes to radio.

It's Steve, not Scott Freeman. I disagree with you here a bit. saying that internet radio is a fad is kind of like saying that email or the internet itself is a fad. It is new technology. Is it common place, no not yet, but this is also Arkansas. Citadel and Clear Channel obviously don't see it as a fad. Citadel just started streaming KARN and their other stations in Little Rock. Arbitron reports that in 2006 98% of all news talk stations will streaming there content to keep there existing audience. What makes you think that it is not working?

I couldn't agree with you more about Corey and Jay, but they do have a very loyal audience. I think they are trying to move out of the market and maybe move up by not having a localized show

As far as Stanley, I have never met him, but more interesting, I have never met anyone who liked him! I wish him luck.
