SOMEONE AT KJR FM SCREWED UP AT-40 AGAIN

G

Guest
This morning they aired the same AT-40 that they aired last week which was the broadcast from the week ending September 30, 1978. It was supposed to be the first week in October, 1973.
A few weeks ago they cut off the last two songs when switching to their regular tired programming right at 11 o'clock. There is automation for you.
Hey, dumbasses, get your act together over there at KJR FM. Classic AT-40 is the only thing worth tuning into your crumby station for. Don't screw that up too.

I agree with you on that one.You can sure tell Clear Channel runs things. They won't do anything live and local and they are so cheap and they won't let Jay Kelly be the the PD he should be.That is probably why Bob Case left as PD.

Bob is still with CC, but moved to Atlanta for an executive position with the company's Creative Services Group.

Not to be a wise ass, but has anyone let the folks at KJR know AT-40 is screwed up?

Jay's email is: [email protected]

If you need additional emails for the staff, you can find them here. http://957kjrfm.com/pages/contact.html

Just write a nice email that details the problem, and copy it to the people who need to know.

That should get some results.

Thank you for pointing that out.

Most people would go to the source to fix a problem, some would just run to this board to point it out.

Well, it was Sunday morning and I did actually try calling the station. Did anyone answer at KJR FM ? I'll give you one guess.

Right. If a person was there, this wouldn't be an issue.

However, a person wasn't there, the show was running automated ... and that why I suggested SENDING AN EMAIL.

As much as I dislike KJR, I certainly wouldn't call it "CRUMBY." Crummy, yes.

You called a radio station while knowing it is in full automation mode. That's a stroke of genius right there.

As rw suggests, have you e-mailed them yet?

Well that should be unnecessary now that there's a thread about this on the premier source of radio information in the Emerald City. ;D

There is the rude, sarcastic, and condescending AQH readers on this site have come to know and loathe.

I'll take that as a "no."

Good job! ::)

AQH,

Grindle is a P-1 listner to KJR, remember, Grin came to this board because of the blow up of B-97, so we get reaction from a very active P-1 as to how they feel when a station screws up. Bottom line, the Grins not in the biz which has been in other Grin posts.

KJR, bottom line, this persons doing you a favor, I'm sure you have many other P-1's pissed too, and I'm sure this isn't the first time AT 40 been cut off on them. Many of the higher demo's still use only the telephone and are not as active on-line as Grindle is.

Grin,

I happen to find AQH a very intellegent, interesting poster. Don't be upset. We are fortunate enough to have many great posters in this board, in the business or not. As you know, all e-mails have the problem of not understanding the tone or expressions of a typed conversation. :)

Grindl has been on this board for awhile, but somewhat dormant up until a couple of months ago. Before, he/she said that KBSG 9when it was KBSG) should emulate K-Hits in Portland.

My point here has nothing to do with radio philosophy or anything of the sort. It boils down to just pure common sense and courtesy. What good does it do to come onto a radio board and complain about something for consecutive weeks? As someone else posted, just e-mail the PD about it. Don't want to give your name? Fine, then create a bogus Hotmail account. It just seems so easy for someone who is so passionate about something to do something in the same amount of time it takes to post here. Is it really that difficult?

Believe it or not, I respect your clear passion for radio and its history, Larry. I just think you've got a lot wrong on what are the ills, and the cures, of today's radio.

And how do you know that I haven't done just that but found writing to a PD or MD to be an exercise in futility AQH? Being the blowhard, know-it-all, all-powerful Wizard of Oz that you have presented yourself to be on this site, it is of no surprise to me that you would automatically make assumptions. Whether you like it or not you don't control this site and it is an open forum. I read what I want to read and post what I want to post, the same goes for all who paricipate here. As a listener, I feel I have a valid opinion and the right to express it here. Once again, if you don't like it don't read it. It is interesting how others on this site have the ability to express their opinions and display their knowledge and experience without being abrasive and condescending. Take a lesson AQH.

The fact that you decide to attack the messenger, and not the message, is telling enough and is all I really need to say.
