Someone explain this to me... (KAMC TV Lubbock)

From KAMC TV 28's website (www.kamc28.tv):
"We have more great news about our friend Ron Roberts.
Ron is undergoing physical therapy for some loss of control on the left side of his body. He says the e-mails and get well wishes that so many of you have sent really mean a lot to him."

Ok, would someone tell me how this is "great news?" It's like saying "Good news, I'm in the hosptial." Doesn't sound like "good news" to me.

Anyone?

It means he is showing enough progress to undergo physical therapy to regain strength.

Thanks. This is a missing piece that the webmaster should have added.

Hey Garrett,

I really think you're being a bit to critical on this particular matter. I'm not trying to bust on you, but consider what happened to Ron. He's lucky that the hemmorage wasn't worse. Futhermore, his kids will be able to have some quality time with their father as they grow up, instead of having to possibly push him around in a wheelchair and translate slurred speech. I just believe that any sign of improvement in this situation is good news. I will also be willing to bet that you will see a very different Ron Roberts when he comes through this journey. I don't know how well or if you know him at all, but I would say that you'll likely see someone who stops to take the time to enjoy those around him and he'll likely be less "tense" when those giant thunder clouds form above.

I know Ron Roberts a little, having had the pleasure to work in the same building with him a many times, and I agree with you a hundred percent. I was afraid my post would be taken the wrong way.

I do hope he is getting better. It's just the tone of KAMC's words that rubbed me wrong. It felt a little "Wizard of Oz'ish" to me.

GET BETTER RON ROBERTS!
