Someone getting fired at "Piano Jazz?"

Listening to Piano Jazz tonight, there was this long, awkward pause when Diana Krall informed Marian McPartland that she had carpal tunnel and couldn't play the piano and also that her voice was shot due to problems with her liver.

You could just hear the unasked question from McPartland: "Why the hell did we book you, then?" before Krall recovered and made a joke about getting shorter as she got older. And yes, her voice was shot....

I'm assuming that whichever talent booker signed Krall was fired immediately after the show finished taping.
 
Considering that McPartland stopped being the host of Piano Jazz back in late 2011, I'd say whatever happened, happened well in the past. ::)
