Something different at Star..

Listening to Cardio radio tonight I heard some artists not typicly played on the Star CeCe Peniston, Rolling Stones, the Clash and Jesus Jones.. Have they added these artists only to this show or are they finnaly widening there playlist..With the recent adds of Weezer and Tommy Lee it seems that way...
Edited by majicrockstar on 10/07/05 11:31 PM.

Sure does.

And it's likely Buffalo Jack is the motivation. Of all the stations that Jack can potentially harm, Star tops the list. Whether Star's alterations are good or bad, it's too soon to say. Back in the day, when direct competitors made moves against the dominant station, the "A" station would tighten its rotations and music and ratchet-up the formatics ("lighten, tighten, brighten.")

There's some risk in "A" station broadening its play list. As the time-honored CHR adage goes, "you can't get hurt by songs you don't play.

These are different times and it will be interesting to see how Star's modifications play out.
