No, you can't speak for me on anything, it's true, but I call 'em as I see 'em, and I see someone who's repeating back what he heard from others instead of seeing for himself. Of course we can disagree, I'm also cool with that. But you gotta know that everytime you decide to pass along another "colleague" generated "nugget" regarding Dale, if it's untrue or patently false or unwarranted, I'll be right here.
Please understand this: I'm not getting my info from disgruntled board-ops or people he's fired...........and NONE OF IT IS PERSONAL. But there are several radio pros I know whose opinions I trust implicitly who've shared with me. And, just because you personally know him doesn't mean you have an unbiased perspective.
OK, fair enough. Now please understand
this, I've forgotten more about radio than you'll ever know. I've spun records, rolled tapes and pressed buttons to digital sytems too numerous to mention. I've had good programmers and bad programmers, good owners and bad owners, I've posted intros, emceed dances, been the "king of clubs" out at remotes 5 mights a week, I've worked in Tampa & Atlanta to name just a couple of markets, I've been hired and I've been fired, blah, blah, blah. One thing I know is what "good" sounds like, and the product that Dale provides sounds "good". We've already established is that if ownership doesn't step up, Dale will, in all probability, fail. If ownership does step up, however, it'll be a long uncomfortable stretch for CC.
Now, having said that, let me point this out...even tho you deny your dissatisfaction with Dale is due to "personal" reasons, you'll slip up and post something like this:
Quote from: Ana log on Today at 01:39:02 pm
FACT: Dale O'Brian has recharged his batteries and is ready to kick some Clear Channel tail.
FACT: He knows what makes that market tick (and knows how to get under his former employers skin)
FACT: He will make his impression...let's all compare notes about this time next year.
indydood:thanks Dale. talk is cheap.

Not personal? I think it is. I think you're hurting because of something he did that you're pissed off about. No shame in that...as long as you admit it.
By the way, where are all these aforementioned "radio pros" whose opinions you "trust implicitly"? I've really only seen supporters of Dale here, except for you. Also, you've still never said who you are, instead, you choose to remain anonymous. Could it be because knowing who you are might tip us off as to why you aren't exactly enamored with Dale O'Brian. I'm thinking yes.
And, no, just because I personally know Dale
doesn't mean I have an unbiased perspective, true. The fact that I know him and admit it publicly and use my own name while doing it means that I respect him enough to stand up for him when people try to trash him for no reason other than they
heard it from somebody else.
