Something I heard on WKLU.

So, one of the jocks was promoting the contest they are doing and said the following (I'm paraphrasing):

"WKLU has a lot of cash to give away, THEY will be giving away..."

I don't get it. It should be "WE"! After all that person is part of the station. Why the third person read? Was the liner written that way?

Probably just a type o would be my guess. It seems like people on here are always saying their djs don't think for themselves or whatever and always read things exactly as they are typed by the station management. If that's true, I'm sure they are just reading a type o. I wish the station had more giveaways. It seems like other stations give stuff away almost every hour. I listen all the time and it seems like we rarely get rewarding for doing so. By the way has anyone here ever been picked to do a Ultimate Top 10? I submitted mine almost four months ago and never heard back? Just wondering if anyone has ever got to do one and what it was like?

We all learn on our first day on the job writing copy that it's US or WE - but that's okay, when you are a 'hippie, who cares, we're cool' station, it doesn't matter that your program director (writer of scripts) doesn't have these basic skills. Even though it reflects on the entire station, and makes the jocks sound ridiculous, it's okay man, we're cool.

Because Russ was so used to posting here in the third person, he must have thought he was writing the liner for the Radio-Info board.

btw, where is Old Skool these days? hmmmmmm .....

Don't feel bad wannabe, they haven't responded to the Ho's request for her Ultimate Top 10 either - still waiting on the call.

I got mine... 6/13/06.

I got the call from Crystal to meet her a few days before my airing. When I arrived, I was disappointed to learn that she couldn't make it, but I got James. Sorry, James, you aren't as cool as Crystal for obvious reasons, but he was a pretty cool guy. After a short tour of the station, we sat in the studio and started pounding out the liners for my show.

If I remember correctly there was one song they didn't like, and I had to use one of my substitutes. But everything I said on my show was written by me. After that I went home and waited for the show. Unfortunately I got called to San Antonio to do a show (for the AWWA 2006... not in show business) so I couldn't hear it live. But they did send me a CD, which is cool, because now I have about 10 copies.

All in all a fun experience.
